FYI, in case a person is curious, its listed on the Remington end of production list as a B grade and requiring only a single trigger installation. The single trigger on the gun is a late Parker SST now. I'm sure there could be much speculation and conjecture about it but what is definitely known is only the Remington documentation. The leather faced pad is not original, was added by the present owner. The gun was said to come from the estate of a Remington executive or board member, name unknown.
The gun is what it is and in my opinion, for what its worth, it is a fine handling, gorgeous, well made gun and I know that 20 years ago, it sold for a high amount.
