Thanks guys for the comments. The quality of mechanical fit and finish. Wood and metal artistry as well as the feel and balance of the gun when shooting wild birds is as good as it gets.
It is as sweet of a 16 as I have every had the pleasure to shoot.
Now I just need to find a nice vintage 1940 era O/U Merkel case to complement this shotgun.
