It is an ejector gun that is missing the forend assembly. It must have gotten lost at some point. Locating a complete ejector forend for your gun can be a tall order. And would not be cheap. I will usually ask $500-700 for such an animal in good working order. And additional fitting if needed will increase the expense.
The gun CAN be converted to an extractor gun easier from a parts standpoint, but having someone do it and do it right could cost the same amount of money.
