Makes me wish I were 35 and not 70- Dog may be a golden, having the blaze vest is a good idea in any heavy cover or swale. Not enough detail of his gun for me to be sure of the grade or gauge. I have a Utica mfg. 20 bore Fox Sterlingworth- very fine gun indeed, and it is "chain lightning" on pigeons.
I picked it up a few years ago in hopes we would get a legal dove season- 28" barrels M&F, DT- just a good basic using double- We didn't get the dove season however.
As far as the gentleman in the foto- with his gun closed. Here's my read. I am 99% sure that his gun has empty chambers- But breaking open a double when not in firing situation- clays or game birds- removes all doubt.
