I wholly agree.
I will add that the relocating of the lug usually is not a problem. The two lower rib sections are so tightly fit that the lug has no where else to go but right in where it was. But, if it is not fully seated, that can cause issues for sure.

I cannot imagine why any well attached forend lug would need to be removed.
