Frank Pachmayr did not do these himself but employed several skilled craftsmen, the youngest of whom was still doing engraving a couple years ago, and may still be now. The Pachmayr shop was the better of the gun engraving shops and was known for modifying Parkers, Model 12's and 21's, etc. Gold inlays were favored. This was during a period before original condition in guns became as favored as it is today, and Los Angelenos had the wealth to get a fancy gun. Robert Peterson had a bunch of them.
