Decided to freshen up the finish. Also decided not to strip the old finish just give it a rub with steel wool and then will do a few coats of tri-oil on top. First time not just stripping and starting over. Will see if I will do this again. Since stock had been “ravaged for two different recoil pads over time, it no longer seemed that important to have original dinged up finish. Protected the checkering though so nothing new over those still crisp diamonds. Cheers Jack
