Thanks, such was my suspicion.
So we have a 16 Ga cut to 24" and with a Pachmayer pad installed and with the bluing long gone from the barrels. It seems to lock up well and I am hoping it shoots.
The widow believes this might have belonged to her father. I am going to encourage her to keep it in her family rather than sell it.
