My grandfather bought a 34" DHE pigeon gun in 1916 for trap shooting. It's high stocked but he decided to also use it for pass shooting along the Hudson River. I took it to Sasketachewan with me every year for pass shooting geese. It is indeed a lively gun and perfectly balanced. It has no safety. It patterns #4's perfectly and I have taken tons of geese with that gun and the old 12 bore pigeon load. White fronts were my favorite to eat and I pretty much shot them exclusively although there were myriads of Canada's, lesser Canada's, snow geese both white and blue color phases and the pretty little Ross geese. My area of Sasketachewan is the staging area for geese flying south. The size of the flocks are incredible.
