I build replicas of Allan's boxes and shipped a gun stock and forend to Chris in Newfoundland in one. I used 2x3 for the framework and 7/32" luan for the top and bottom and 1 1/4" screws every 4". Canadian customs wanted to see what was inside the box but they didn't have the tiny square bit for the screws. A silly little thing like that didn't deter the all-powerful Canadian customs folks.... they just smashed and pried until they had totally destroyed the luan cover.

I guess nothing is indestructible.
