I see the forend has a piece scabbed into it as well. I will have to say though, someone did go through a lot of trouble to put that stock back together. Starting to feel bad. Just a wild speculation but I'll bet whoever did that work owned that gun and had limited means and was sick at their stomach while putting it back together. If they did butt weld barrels together right at the forcing cones they must have been very skilled, knowledgeable or lucky.
