Default Help Out A Stranger

Hello All, I am hoping to get any and all insight for a gentleman who needs a little help. I just got off the phone with him and after quite a discussion about an 1894 DH 12 gauge with 30" barrels, of which he knows little about, I told him I would try to help him put a value to the gun. That's the good news. The left barrel, at least, has a slight bulge and he believes the right does as well. The stock is not original but is appears to be a Parker replacement as it matches a Parker DH style. Original was straight, now is capped pistol. The stock has an added 1 1/2" piece of wood as well. That's the bad.
Can the Damascus barrels be repaired. In my apprentice opinion they look to be more swollen the bulged. Stock replacement, or take off additional wood and add period pad. Ideas on cost???
I am told the gun mechanically functions well and locks up tight. He lives in the Atlanta area and is not adverse to a member reaching out to him for a visit and an honest evaluation.
He is recently retired and has zero attachment to the gun, even though it was his great grandfathers, like most of us needs a few bucks for another project. Please comment or PM me with any info.

Thank you in advance, Deano
