Default Availability and Pricing

A noted New England collector sent this to me yesterday and asked that I post it.

" you might want to stress on the web that the price of a gun is determined by AVAILABILITY, ie ---according to the Parker Story there were 1417 V's----198 D's ----and 23 C's, etc in 28 bore!!! Now if you had a collection of D's, and you needed a 28 bore to complete the collection, would you call Cabelas to see if you could negotiate a deal. You bet you would. I bought a Parker 28---25 to 39 years ago( long before the Parker Story), granted it was a two barrel set, vent rib, Parker single trigger, Trap and Skeet combination and paid 25 k for itand shortly after sold it for 27.5 k and made 10%---if I had that gun today, I would not take less than 75k. You can BOTTOM FISH all you want, but you may come up with a bare hook and be empty handed!!! ---AVAILABILITY---- "
