Another thought on this. If it were a miller with a rocker selector, the R and L would be on each side like he describes. But, millers usually are fat triggers that require the center trigger divider to be removed. So converting back to DT with the same trigger plate would be much more difficult.
So maybe it was another type of trigger with a similar selector.
