Default First Bird with my Short Ten

Took my newly acquired 1890 Short Ten NH duck hunting yesterday on the salt water. It was -1 degree at 5:45 AM at the boat launch The bay is filled up with wintering Canadian Geese Blacks and Mallards. Ducks and geese by the thousands rafted in the middle. It was sunny and they stayed rafted all day with some occasional high flyers. My buddy managed his one black duck and in the middle of the afternoon a lone mallard decoyed and I shot my first duck with my short ten. We have until January 8th this year to hunt. I'll be back out this Friday.
