Your 240689 was made in 1937 - the year that Remington moved the Parker operation to Ilion. Whether is was made before the move or after would be difficult to answer but there must be some reference stating the first Parker serial number completed in Ilion.

The Meriden grip cap, for instance, was used well after the move to Ilion as were several of the other Parker Bros. overstock that went to Ilion along with all of the original Parker Bros. machinery.
