A lot of it will depend upon your guns constriction.
Definitley pattern them.

I used them (for the first time) at the flurry at the Fall Southern.
I used them in a gun with 40 thous choke in each barrel and they gave me about a modified pattern.

Great product. In my experience RST makes nothing but excellent products.

IMO if you are shooting a spreader out of a already open choked gun you are handicapping yourself. (IC choke or skeet or cylinder) is not really a combo for spreaders unless the target is les 10 yards or less from you. (not a good combo because of the holes in the pattern)
