It has been my experience that those Galco Leather Pads (I have X-Small, Small and Medium) can be pretty slick and don't always keep the butt where you want it in recoil from the first shot. The Pachmayr rubber slip-ons generally keep the butt where I want it. The slick leather pads may be better for a fast mount in Dean's Woodcock thicket!! Some of my old guns with original leather-faced pads have that same slipping issue.
