Well the double rifle made it to the range today. Took three days to make brass for it. Wont bother to go through the process, but took up lots of lathe time. I made forty cases out of 45/70 used brass. They are about a quarter in short but work as is. Choreographed the first loads and the right barrel was 2123fps and the left barrel shot the chronograph. Had to give up the speed testing and concentrated on the 100 yard gong. Fired the first round and the recoil caused my right hand to move rearward and set off the second barrel and it was a perfect double with both rounds striking the gong. Boy was that a surprise, and a little painfull not to mention a little embarrassing. Seems like a crowd had gathered around by that time. Well back to the reloading bench.
