Hundreds of bills for every kind of special interest are introduced every year and only the rare ones with substantial backing pass.
This is nothing new, these anti-gun bills are introduced every year and they die. The NRA does a good job of killing them off.

Bruce and others ... I'd like to reinforce what Bruce said previously ... While it is certainly true that the NRA and other pro-second amendment, pro-gun organizations do a good job of getting anti-gun bills killed, just belonging to the NRA and other pro-gun groups is NOT an excuse for pro-second amendment, pro-gun people to sit on their dead ass doing nothing ! ...
There are far too many anti-second amendment, and anti-gun people currently serving in the US House of Representatives and US Senate, and to put the proverbial icing on the cake, President B-HO just nominated a woman to serve on the Supreme Court who wrote that she was "Not sympathetic" to a man claiming his right to keep and bear arms had been violated by police when she was a law-clerk for Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall ...
So it is the absolute duty of every freedom loving, pro-second amendment, pro-gun person in America to continue calling and writing state, local, and federal officials to prevent the Sarah Bradys of the world from getting their anti-gun bills passed behind our backs when nobody's looking or as an amendment to the next Congressional Pay Raise bill that gets passed in the dead of night ...
Sir Winston Churchill Said: "Never give in--never, never, never, never, in nothing great or small, large or petty, never give in except to convictions of honour and good sense. Never yield to force; never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy." in 1941 ...
And Thomas Jefferson had it absolutely nailed when he said: "THE PRICE OF FREEDOM IS ETERNAL VIGILANCE." ...
Nuff Said.
