We corresponded often and when he was back stateside I invited him to the Vintager's Get-Together in Sanford at the Southern. I had not made a hotel reservation and all I could find there were full up. David invited me to spend the night at his home near Camp LeJune. After that we would always meet at the Southern. I will miss him a lot.

He'd been trying to get me to come to the Southern for the last two years but it seemed I always had something in the way
