Default 67th Opening Day for this little Trojan

This field is in Frankfort, Kentucky and the hunt started in 1948. I remember retrieving for Frank Phipps as a child and it is in this field my father gave me the little 20 gauge Parker Trojan he found under the Christmas Tree so long ago.

We went in at 1:00 and I didn't fire a shot until 3:30. There was good shooting in the field at the start, but I stay on the perimeter where I can keep an eye on my neighbors. I had my 15 before 5:00, though I did get into my second box of shell. I shot a questionable double. It wasn't a bang, bang double. It was a bang and twist myself into the ground trying to get in front of the bird, bang, kind of double.
