I think it was a little hit or miss in the later half of the 1920s. I have a damascus 12 gauge GH, serialed 220657 that has the peaked buttplate and engraved, flat screws. I also have a 12 gauge VH, serialed 217607 with the unpeaked buttplate and round headed screws. Based on that little sample, between 1926 and 1928.
