I have not been able to determine a deffinate date, but it is sometime in the mid '20s or so. Guns in 1928 did not have them, I can say that for sure.

They eliminated the spur, but the stocks still had a curve in them. And the buttplate screws were changed to a simpler style with a domed head.

Everything else about the buttplates were the same.
