That is a fine old Jones lever gun you have there. Well done!

The "serial number" is not a serial number. It is either a barrel number or applied by the Birmingham Proof house... which proofed this gun at 13 bore. There was no law that required UK makers to serial number their guns in those days. Many do not have them. It was the maker's choice.

The crack in the forearm is an easy fix for a good wood man. Kirk will know the best for this job. He will also tell you much more about the gun. You chose wisely.

If the barrels need a hone, he's the best in North America for that!
