With the caveat that I am a complete tyro (at this Parker stuff), I weighed three guns available to me and found the following actual weights.

28ga VH, 28" marked 3^2: bbls only=2#8oz; w/FE=3#2oz
16ga TA, 28" marked 3^5: bbls only=2#12oz; w/FE=3#5oz
16ga Trojan, 26" marked 3^4: bbls only=2#14oz; w/FE=3#4oz

It seems to me that there would had to have been a pretty big pile of chips/shavings of removed metal to equal the weights of the fore ends on each of these three guns.

Additionally: For whatever it's worth, the percentage weight change on each of the above barrel sets (not including the fore ends) between stamped ("unstuck weight") and actual weight is: 20% for the VH 28, 12% for the Trojan 16 (both fluid steel), and 17% for the TA 16 (laminated steel).
