Another double but not a Parker
A fun double that I have never seen discussed on these august pages--a Savage model 24--is handy, light, and almost as much fun as a pile of puppies. The "old" model with the barrels soldered together and the selector switch a button on the side. I have had two, sold one, and still walk my farms with the other one. The guns were made with steel and walnut, like guns are supposed to be. When new, they were quite inexpensive. Of course, all guns were inexpensive back then in today's dollars. I think then, they were around $30 and today at your local gun shop or show, close to $400. A .22 and a 410 in one package, if put together right like the 24 was, is very hard to resist. If you have one, let me know how you like it. A mini Parker, right?
