Default Keeping good gun records

With the recent theft of my L C Smith it is a reminder on how important it is to keep a good log of all of your guns as well as pictures. I had done a good job for a number of years but then started to slip a little. When my gun was stolen I went to my record book and realized I had not listed it. I panicked. I was fortunate that I had some repair receipts to locate the SN. This morning I have started to take good pictures and record not only the SN but any other helpful identifying marks.
A few guns have not been shot for years, or will not be anytime soon will sold and money used to upgrade my security system, the purchase of an additional safe, and take my wife to the women's World Cup games in Canada next month and a new computer for my granddaughter. Nothing like a loss to give a guy a wake up call and evaluate priorities.
