Lest we forget, designated " Decoration Day" in 1868 by the commanding General on the Army to remember the fallen of the Civil War, both Union and Confederate. The date was always to be May 30. It was to decorate the graves in every church yard in every city, town, and Hamlet nationwide. The day may have changed to accommodate business, school, and government operations but the purpose remains the same. This should be a solemn time for reflection and thanks. To all the families that have sacrificed so much for us to be able to live as Americans, God Bless you and Thank you
