I have brought many a bucket of coal in to feed the "Warm Morning Coal stove" we had. We also cooked on a kerosene stove, and had no TV just listened to the radio, and on Saturday night< Gene Autry> and the grand ole oprey, those were simple times, neighbors knew each other and were always ready to help if needed. Saturday Matinee 25cents and that got you a drink and popcorn too!, We also had an Ice Box to keep things cool, just hung the sign on the front porch and depending on what color he saw that is how much ice he would leave, the ice man was never to busy on a hot summer day to chip a sliver of ice for a small boy, I looked forward to that!
