MH never heard the term "slick" heads for widgeon, but I love it!!

They can be a very hard bird to shoot some days, they get to about 70 yards and do what we call the widgeon freak out. Other days they drop right in.

One dim days or against a hillside dotted with snow the first thing you see
on the drakes is that white stripe on the forehead
We also call them cotton tops , robbers, and pie balds.

The other things we call them I can''t type here
