Tom,

I think Pat is on to something with #9 shot. I shoot 7 1/2 at just about everything feathered or clay. Yesterday I took a little .410 SXS (I had the stock cut down to 12.5" for the grandchildren) amd shot sporting clays. I shot 2 1/2 and 3" shells with #9 shot and was supprised at how far those loads would break a clay. My father shot a lot of 8 1/2 shot. We called him "school bus" because he would take us to school on shooting.
