I am not quite sure as to what Ed was doing by posting photos of that pinned stock.

John,
Yeah, you will want to get letter info if available to see if maybe those pads are original or not on the guns. That is a big thing to determine.
If they are not original, or cannot be verified as original, the wrist should be repaired and an extension with a SSBP installed. I have a couple of higher grade SS buttplates if you need any.
If you need the repair to wrist as well as extension/blending work, I would recommend Larson for that work.
However, if the wrist is broke, and it has been cut, you may want to consider a new stock given the amount of work it would need.
It all depends on what you are into the gun for and if the stock also maybe has undesirable features such as poor dimensions. Your call.
