I would only use the Classic Doubles version in a repro or original Parker. The real Hevi-shot is tungsten, nickel, and iron. That has to be rough on a barrel that is thinner than the pipes they build on modern autos and pumps.

Even shooting Hevi-shot in a modern gun you must use one of the original factory tubes or a Hevi-shot designed turkey tube. These are about .010 or more less constriction than lead turkey tubes.

I'll bet they were using a really tight lead tube for the Hevi-shot. I've got some lead choke tubes at .665. That is very tight, too tight for large Hevi-shot.
