Casey - nice looking VHE. There are some good gunsmiths who can re-case the action - Balchelder in MI and Turnbull in NY to name a few. You should contact them, send some pictures, and discuss price with them. Case color is one thing... polishing and removing the scratches, re-cutting the engraving I think is were the labor and cost may impact total cost of the restoration of the frame.

It were my gun, I would leave as is and shoot it --- and shoot it regularly with proper loads. Just by your handling of the gun with the friction of your skin or glove may give it a nice worn / patina over time... My 2 cents....
