I'd agree on the price as an heirloom. If you were to sell it, then I don't think you'd risk much with a $0.01 start, no reserve auction. I feel certain that gun and case would attract a fair amount of attention. Very nice, and thank you for sharing. As others have already stated - that's a pretty freaking neat gun case.

What does the old girl weigh? The gun?

Your question concerning value is legitimate. I don't know who could tell you how to properly insure that against loss. If that is an actual Parker Bros gun box from that era, then I would venture a guess the box itself is worth more than most VH grade shotguns on the market.
