We got hit pretty hard and pretty fast today with 5 inches of snow followed by a nice coat of ice/freezing rain. I have a 20 minute drive to work, and it took me over four and a half hours to get home today. I left the office at 12:45 when my company shut down, had to pick up my son from school, and didn't get home until 5:30. Every road was complete gridlock, and people were abandoning cars left and right on the side of the road because they couldn't make it up hills. I crossed my fair share of medians, drove on the opposite side of the road, and even flattened a stop sign (which was kind of fun) thanks to a slide downhill, but we made it. We are supposed to get more ice and freezing rain tonight, and possibly some additional snow tomorrow afternoon. The forecast for Friday and Saturday however is in the mid 40's and sunny. I can't say what the roads will be like down here by then, but I'm hoping the DOT will have the main roads cleared and that 45 degree temps will help with the melting. I will give you guys an update here as I know more. My potential challenge for shooting Friday is that my wife left for Boston today and was supposed to be home tomorrow night, but her flight has already been cancelled. I took off all day Friday so I could shoot, but I'll have my 4 year old son to look after until she gets here, which could mean I'm out for Friday unless other arrangements can be made. I should be good to go all day Saturday though.

With this winter weather and not knowing how it will affect attendance, I haven't contacted Dan Andrews about doing lunch for us on Saturday yet. The last thing I want to do is ask him to prep a big lunch for 9 people and then have us not be able to come. I will try to call him tomorrow and see what his thoughts are on the subject. I hope it all works out, as I'm looking forward to seeing everyone again and burning some powder on a great course.
