I don't own a Colt SxS and have never shot one, but I have begun to appreciate them. Some time ago I was in Dan Cullity's shop out on Cape Cod and he had a Colt SxS in for some minor work. I had him receive a little GHE 28ga for me and he give it a professional once over before I took position, so we were talking Parkers. Some where along the line he picked up the Colt and made some comment along the lines that he liked the Colt SxS the best of all American makers. He gave a few reasons, most along the line of how they are engineered.

Dan is a master gunsmith and does fantastic work, so his comment made a real impression with me. I had never given any thought to Colt shotguns before this, but since then I have been watching for them. I never seem to see them; they are far and few between in the places I frequent.
