The first 16 were on Damage Control Permits !

I kept the backstraps and tenderloin from just about all of them and gave them to friends etc . The rest of the deer were deboned and my gunsmith buddy grinds it or cubes it all and we cook it at the shop during the week for lunch in variouse ways . Generally we have four or five customers each day there eating lunch with us . So it doesn't take to long to go thru a couple dozen deer .

Matter of fact yesterday (saturday and the last day of the season) I cooked the backstraps from two deer for lunch out in the field for the dozen or so of us hunting the last day together .

I understand your question as I used to hunt your state in the north eastern corner . Generally I would have a buck and two doe tags up there and generally I'd fill them all where as my friends from PA didn't quite have the same luck .

To be honest the twenty I took this year are more then some of my friends up there had taken in their entire life and alot of those guys had hunted for 30+ years .

Twenty may sound like alot to some folks and I suppose it is , but folks who don't hunt Maryland , Virginia and several of the other southern states don't understand . My twenty is a good number but there are ALOT of fellows who take more then that in a year . My usual take for a year is 10-15 . I know several guys here that average well over 30 each year .

I will tell you this , after skinning gutting and cutting up my 20 and my gunsmith buddies six deer I was quite tired of semi processing deer !
