I think the gun is self-explanatory. The letter says the gun was ordered in November of 1935. The Remington code "R D" indicates November of 1935. It's all right there... that's the set of barrels the gun was made with. For whatever reason or lack thereof, we will never know why a set of Vulcan Steel barrels was originally fitted to a Grade 2 Parker... but it was.
