If it is a double trigger gun, there is nothing overly different as to the basic operation as compared to any other side lock gun.
LC Smith locks are pretty simple in design and workings.

Could be things just need a good cleaning. Clearances that are close to start with could be made close by dirt buildup. Or it could be a worn sear tip.

I would not get too excited if it is only the second time it has happened in 10 years.
If it happens more, I would be concerned. I would just start with a good cleaning if you want.
