The reason some shells load better than others is that you may be loading six segment shells with eight segment crimpers. No big deal, but it may be the reason. I have never seen an 800 PW in 16 gauge, but I have heard they exist. Could it have been a single stage PW 375? The problems with the crimp could be the difference in number of segments also. I have two different crimp starters for my PW 375 and keep my shells segregated so they are used in the proper crimp starters.
