The September issue of the NRA's American Hunter has an article entitled
"Where's the Ammo"
they discount the DHS issue and lay the shortages and prices on increased demands due in part to increased gun sales, and an increase in outlets (ranges and stores) and largely on speculators and hoarders.
the high sales caused increases in commodity prices which has increased production costs. the article ends with comments that there are signs of increased supplies beginning to trickle into some areas of the market.
