Rich, I think Hemmingway searched long and hard to find a date that did not conflict with another shoot or most hunting seasons . I know one of the dates he considered conflicted with your "fly swatting season" so he chose another.
I guess you can not please all the people all the time and being you are one of those hard to please guys....
