Also check your primers for drag marks. The pins could have gotten stuck in them. I had a PH grade once that had one firing pin that was a bit peened flat and it would get stuck into primers making the gun hard to open. I had to remove the hammer and clean up the pin.
Parker Hammers in hammerless guns do rebound slightly so normally pins sticking in primers are not an issue.
If your gun is also difficult to close when loading now shells, the rim recess could be too small making modern shells a tight fit. The rim may need to be recut to accept modern shells.
Or it could just be junk hulls. Explore those 3 things. I cannot think of anything else.
