Charlie, the original english 10 gauge magnum was 3 1/4", while the the standard 10ga was 2 7/8". I thought it would be fun to make some 3 1/4" shells as they are fairly rare. The gun has been dated to 1885-1887, based on the proof marks and company history. The fact that it is a"magnum" suprises me and must be a very early one. A friend who collects english guns has quite a few 3 1/4" magnums dating from the 1890's all the wat into the 1930's.
