Scott, are the standard shells you shot also AA's? I've found their primers to be softer and more friendly to a gun or two that I own which are prone to light strikes.
Did you try changing the selector for the barrel that fires first? I'm admittedly weak on knowledge of the Parker action, but notice that they appear to have rebounding hammers. Is the rebound spring assisted? If so, and the rebound spring on one hammer (second barrel) is weak, then it may be lunging forward partially upon recoil from the first shot. Couple that with what I perceive as the soft primer in a AA shell, and bingo you've just doubled. If you change the barrel selector and the problem goes away, Bob's yer uncle! (and you need a new spring)
If the "normal" shells you usually shoot are also AA's, then I'll just be quiet and shuffle back on over to LC Smith Land!
