Default PANIC OF 1893 KILLED THE GAY 90S

The only problem is the article speaks of the Gay 90s and how everything was booming. He writes "in the United States good times had truly begun to roll. Manufacturing was gearing into full swing." He also writes of a "...growing tide of consumerism." Hardly.

Then he writes of the AAH and AAHE going into production in 1894.

During the Panic of 1893 approximately 600 banks failed, 15,000 businesses and many railroads went under.

The Panic of 1893 was one of the worst economic times in American history, and the depression was unlike any seen for decades. It is similar to what happened to us in the last decade. A little historical research instead of off the cuff remarks would have helped greatly and the article about the gun by itself would have been good.
