I located the original photo (of the enlarged version I mentioned that hangs on my wall) and tried my hand at scanning to convert it to digital....ain't technology grand?

I was lucky enough that day in northern Wisconsin 25 years ago to have a hunting partner along......as well as actually having a camera available!



I may occasionally suffer from CRS, but I recall (vividly) those mid to late 80s and the incredible bird numbers in the upper mid-west. Numbers that no doubt contributed to the making of a lot of great grouse dogs.

I don't get out to that part of the country much anymore, but I'm sure the upper portion of WI is still pretty much one giant bird cover!

While it is great to see old hunting photos, they do have a somewhat negative effect......it makes you remember that you actually had color in your head and face hair......instead of that silver white stuff!!!
