New Member.....New Parker

Hi Everyone,
I got my first Parker today. A Trojan made in 1921. I'm new to Parkers; I've read lots of threads on this forum, Larry Baer's book and Muderlak's book. I plan on getting The Parker Story as well. I think this gun is ok for a starter. It needs to be really cleaned. |
welcome Neil
any Parker is a good one to start what are the details - gauge, barrel length? |
Neil,
Congratulations on acquiring your first Parker shotgun and welcome to the PGCA. I hope you plan to shoot that Trojan as that is it's intended purpose. |
Trojans are good rugged guns and a nice place to start a Parker collection. Good for you!
It appears to be a 12ga on a #2 frame. What's the barrel length? |
Thanks everyone. This is a great forum; I've already learned alot.
Yes, it's a 12ga on a #2 frame. When I get it cleaned up I want to hunt with it and shoot a bit of trap. I bought it from a guy at my gun club. I couldn't leave without firing it it once, so I stepped up to station 1 and called pull. broke the the clay. That's a good start! I also plan on ordering a letter to learn it's history. |
Forgot to answer the other question. It has 30" barrels.

Tch tch.... another poor lad bitten by the ruthless "Parker disease"! Beware Neil as there is no cure except for buying more Parkers....:)

Richard is right.....I started with a very well used, but shootable, 1877 Lifter and recently bought a 6 frame 10. My wife is still a little tweaky with what I paid for that one! Nice Trojan. Welcome aboard!

Very nice start to your Parker collecting. This one should service you well.

"My wife is still a little tweaky with what I paid for that one!" You told her?
